As much as some people turned against Blaine after he cheated. Look at his face, he was feeling /so/ guilty! How can you hate on someone who clearly regrets their actions. He was lonely and felt as though he was being left behind, he reached out for Kurt, but Kurt was caught up in New York so Blaine felt rejected!
None of them two realised that they were hurting the other, they were just trying to adapt to the new setting.
Blaine felt useless in Lima without Kurt and Kurt was trying to get used to New York.
You may hate Blaine because he cheated but that is so unfair! He made a mistake but in life you do that a lot.
So if you start sending hate to Blaine (or even Darren!) you need to get over it because,
1- Klaine are now engaged.
2- They are soulmates.
3- /Kurt/ forgave him.
4- That was a season ago!
So guys, stop hating on Blaine and then blaming Darren! It’s not fair!
As you get older you realize that not everything in life is black and white. As a teenager I think cheating on someone would be unforgivable but as an adult I realize that there are two sides to every story … Life is full of gray areas —- being in a relationship is not easy and when you truly love someone —you understand that. I honestly feel that Kurt and Blaine have a hard time communicating their feelings which can lead to many difficulties. I am glad they were able to forgive and continue to love each other. This is an important life lesson for younger viewers and I’m happy with the way they presented it.
I think that this cheating storyline, though hard, really helped me learn that, maybe not to the point of experiencing it myself, but it got me there.
Can I just add one thing to the original post though:
Being mad at cheating in Glee means that you must actively hate a large selection of the main characters
Quinn cheated on Finn with Puck, because of this Finn dated Rachel, but after Finn went on a date with Brittana, Rachel met Jesse. When Finn and Rachel got back together Rachel intended to cheat on Finn with Puck. Finn broke up with her and so wanted to win back Quinn who cheated on Sam. Sam cheated with Mercedes behind Shane’s back and then when Sam and Mercedes got together again, Sam feared he had cheated by kissing a woman who cast him as a model. Meanwhile Rachel cheated with and on both Brody and Finn, but Brody was being paid to have sex.
Although not fully expressed as cheating, Will cheated emotionally on his wife Terri with Emma who also cheated on her boyfriend Ken. Later, there was a mix of whether there’d be cheating or not which involved Will, Emma, Carl, and Holly, ‘thankfully’ the two of them got out of that mess. Still, Finn kissed Emma and Emma considered that cheating.
Moving onto Season 2, we see that Tina has cheated on Artie with Mike at the summer camp, though Mike stays a loyal boyfriend, Artie is shown in Season 5 to be sleeping around with numerous girls and gets an STD from this. However, Brittany cheated on Artie because Santana talked her into it, Santana also must have been actively cheating on Sam.
From this we get into the little flirtations between Sebastian and Blaine, but Blaine shows not to know this as cheating, Kurt meanwhile knowingly flirts with another guy which causes Blaine a lot of self doubt, through not being able to think clearly Blaine spends a night with someone on Facebook causing a valid breakup which he is shown to deeply regret.
Another incident that happened was that Sue dated Cooter whilst he was still in a shaky relationship with Beiste, but Sue had also dated Rod who labeled himself as a man who dates multiple women at a time.
Finally, Jake played around a lot with Marley and Kitty’s emotions, and even though Jake slept with Bri when Marley wasn’t ready to be intimate, Marley kissed Ryder after Valentines Day. She and Jake made it through this but both admitted it was on the border of cheating.
If the only reason you have a problem with Blaine is because he cheated then please do not tell me your favorite character is any of the following:
Artie, Brittany, Cooter, Emma, Finn, Jake, Kurt, Marley, Mercedes, Quinn, Rachel, Rod, Sam, Santana, Tina, Will
Yes, there are different levels of cheating but you can’t just say that cheating is wrong and that’s why you hate a character so much in Glee because literally most everyone does it.
